Access to the Trans Canada
Trail via the Nanaimo River Road can be
found approximately 8km from the main island highway at the Pipeline
Trail
access (look for two white gates on either side of the road). Unmarked
but for some small signs courtesy I drove right pass it the
first time and ended up at the . |

Heading south you need
to turn off the pipeline trail at the bottom
of the hill in order to stay on the Trans Canada Trail to the Nanaimo
River.
You can ride part of the way but at this time it is mostly nothing
more than
a rough foot path. The trail North along the the Pipeline Trail leads
to the Community of Extension and the Extension Ridge Trail. |

Trail users of this section of trail
should note that this section of trail is
under development and very primary trail markers and trail development
are in place. Most of the trail markers I found seem to be courtesy
of

Trail south ends at the
Nanaimo River, currently there is no crossing
to the other side but a proposed bridge is planned. |
