Wide open sunny fields and sandy beachs. East Sooke
Park is one of the
largest regional parks on southern Vancouver Island. Close to Victoria
the park offers causal beach picnicking to some serious hiking trails.
Though the trails are
well marked and maintained, take precautions,
wear appropriate footwear and leave a trip plan with a friend.
A cell phone and a map printed out from the official CDR
parks website is a good idea. Day use park, No camping.
Take the 1A from Victoria onto the
Old Island Hwy (14) turn left on
Metchosin Road, keep left of the Welcome to Metchosin sign. Turn Right
on Happy Valley Road at the Metchosin Cafe (the covered wagon) then
left onto Rocky Point Road. Continue on past Pedder Bay onto
East Sooke Road, turn left at Becher Bay Road.
