TRANS CANADA TRAIL - VANCOUVER ISLAND SECTION

On paper the Island section of the Trans Canada Trail extends from
Victoria to Nanaimo. In effect much of the trail is still incomplete or uses
excising roads as interim trail routes. There are however several areas
of interest one can enjoy by driving to, parking then hiking or biking in.

At this time these can be broken down into 5 areas, Shawnigan Lake
to Kinsol Trestle, Holt Creek Trailhead to the Town of Lake Cowichan,
Haslam Creek Suspension Bridge to Darryl's Way just south of the
Nanaimo River, Pipeline Trail to the Community of Extension and
the Extension Ridge Trail to Colliery Dam in Nanimo.
